72 Irresistible Headline Formulas

Truth: I never write an article without consulting a swipe file of headlines. These formulas are based on going through thousands upon thousands of articles, landing pages, ads, and so on.

You already know how important headlines are.

I’m not gonna quote Ogilvy or point to the dozens of copywriting books that hold that you should spend the majority of your time writing your headline.

I will, however, tell you this: out of all the elements of a blog post, the headline is most like math.


The following formulas can be changed, added to, subtracted, divided, and multiplied in any way you see fit.

Don’t change your content to fit a headline, but rather the other way around.

Let me give you an example before I share with you some of the most irresistible headline formulas I’ve collected over the year.

[An Easy Way to] is one of the formulas I’m about to share with you. Of course, you can add a number in front, change it to X [Easy Ways to] but you can also do something like this:

[An Easy Way to] + For [Group] Who Are Tired Of [Problem]

Thus, you have a far more compelling headline that both promises a solution to a problem, but also addresses a common objection the reader might have.

This, of course, improves engagement levels.
